FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE TIPS
TO GET THE BEST PERFORMANCE OUT OF YOUR KAILANI SPORTS® COOLER.

We are proud to offer the best value for some of the greatest insulated coolers on the market. A combination of insulation performance, freezer-quality sealing gasket, durability and roto-molded construction position KAILANI coolers as an industry leader in ice retention at unprecedented value.

1. A COLD COOLER IS THE BEST WAY TO START

When a cooler is stored in a warm place, it will take a significant amount of ice to chill the cooler itself. Place a bag or two of ice into your cooler to cool it down few hours before use.

2. ICE CUBES OR BLOCK ICE

Ice cubes are smaller and have a larger surface area which will chill a cooler and the contents quickly. Block ice melts at a much slower rate. It is best to use a mix of both to cool contents and achieve long-term ice retention.

3. ICE IS NOT ICE

Warm ice (around 0°C) is typically wet, drips, and doesn’t last long. Ice that is a lot colder than 0ºC is relatively dry and will last considerably longer.

4. DON'T DRAIN THE WATER

Don’t drain the melted ice water. Unwrapped food needs to stay out of the water, but the cold water helps insulate the remaining ice.

5. KEEP AIR OUT

Empty space inside your cooler accelerates ice melt due to cooling of the air. Fill as much space as possible with extra ice, ice blocks, towels, or crumpled newspaper if you are concerned about the weight.

6. KEEP YOUR COOLER OUT OF THE SUN

Whenever possible, keep your cooler out of direct sunlight as ice can last up to twice as long in the shade. If you can find shade, tarps or towels can be used to cover your cooler as a substitute.

7. LIMIT OPENING AND CLOSING THE LID

Just like your fridge at home, every time you open the cooler, you are exchanging the cold air inside with warm air outside, accelerating the ice melt.
